Just saw this over at the qRO forums:

For those that don't know, the Freya emulator is the main program that is used to create the Ragnarok Online server for qRO LR. With the Freya project now dead, what will this mean for qRO LR? It's possible that qRO LR's 3-year old databases will be converted so that it can work with eAthena and other server emulators, but there's also a possibility that a wipe may be inevitable for qRO LR. I hope the latter isn't the case.
I've decided it's finally time to end the Freya development branch. There's just no real purpose for it anymore. I'm sorry to say, our main competitor eAthena features a far more stable emulator. Freya's original purpose was stability. It should have ended nearly a year ago but people like myself delayed the inevitable. From here on, there will be no more development on the Freya branch, and official support will be fully dropped. If there's any continuation groups, that's fine, but they will not be supported by me.
When I say 'Freya', I mean Nezumi/Freya/Aurora. All three. Aurora though I don't really want to see die, so I'll be looking for someone/a group to continue it for the short time I'll be sticking around. If I can't find anyone, it'll be ended as well. I know all of this is a bit sudden, but I've decided to move on and completely quit RO/devel. Without me around, there's very little hope for Freya, so it's best to formally finish it.
For current users there are several other options available:
- eAthena
- eAPP (In progress)
- Aegis
- Helios (In progress)
- Aurora [jAthena] (If continued)
The Freya emulator branch off of eAthena is now officially shut down. The branch's success and history is credited to Yor, MagicalTux, akrus, Mikeyboy, Proximus, Harbin, myself, and many, many others. Kudos to them, and those that were not listed. Although this is the end for Freya, it is not near the end of RO and I hope all of our current supporters and users keep at it and help to make it thrive longer.
- Tsuyuki
Additional Notes: You can download the final revision of Freya/Nezumi in the SVN repository. For Aurora, as I said above, I'm looking for a continuation group, so if anyone's interested in it, catch me when I'm online or pm me, and we'll work something out. Otherwise Aurora will be halted as well.
