Since we all come from different places and countries here on Y-Corner, it would be interesting to see what languages people know. Post what languages you know and how good you're at it.
Languages I Know:
English - English is my native language, as I was born and raised in the U.S.
Korean - I comprehend conversational Korean, as my parents often spoke Korean at home while growing up. I later learned how to read and write Korean when I took Korean lessons at my church. I got even better at reading and writing when I took Korean III in college.
Japanese - Not quite conversational in Japanese, but I can read and write Japanese Hiragana and Katakana characters, some Kanji (Chinese characters). In high school, I took a few years of Japanese, but since I didn't really practice it after entering college, my Japanese got really rusty. However, my trip to Japan helped me remember quite a bit of Japanese.

hmmm...
first lang= English
I took 3 years of German in high school. I don't get much practice with it so I'm probably gonna get rusty (even in Germany they speak English O.o). I do have problems with vocabulary frequently (I didn't memorize the German dictionary in 3 years of book learning) and unusual word forms throw me off. Oh yeah, the word genders kill me too. I can't keep those straight at all and it matters a lot.
I've picked up some phrases in Japanese from watching too much subbed anime, but a lot of that's just parroting. I get excessively proud of myself when I pick out a pun in Japanese (fried noodles sounds similar to fried monkey!) I'm trying to get into Japanese class in college but I'm not doing so well.
You get a mountain of cookies if you know where I found out the random thing with the noodles and the monkey. lol

LOL Thats coz in india we have like what a different language for almost each state, and there are like 30 states in india(not sure ) and im pretty sure there are like a 100 languages in my country so its impossible to even know all of their names,in some places even each city would have its own language but then in america most people seem to know international languages, like french, spanish etc, here not many know anythin other than their mother tongue, maybe english and hindi lol
