Super Mario Galaxy for the Wii was released this week. For the past few months, I've heard a lot of hype going for SMG. I liked Super Mario 64, but I skipped on Super Mario Sunshine, since it didn't seem too impressive. However, looking at the reviews for SMG below... (From Super Mario Galaxy Wikipedia): IGN - 9.7/10 Famitsu - 38/40 Gamespot - 9.5/10 Official Nintendo Magazine - 97% GamePro - 5/5 1UP.com - 9.5/10 Gametrailers - 9.8/10 Eurogamer - 10/10 Game Informer - 9.75/10 GameSpy - 5/5 X-Play - 5/5 As you can see, the reviews on SMG are nothing but stellar. o.o I'll probably be picking this one up for my Wii. Anyone else getting it? (Damn, so many good games coming out this month!)

Let me know if you get it. This game seems extremely lame. I think it's aimed more towards kids, but I could be wrong.
If you get it, I would be interested in knowing how you feel about it.
GET GUITAR HERO III!

I picked up Super Mario Galaxy (along with Crysis) yesterday. After playing a few hours of Super Mario Galaxy, I now know why the game got such high reviews... IT'S JUST FUN TO PLAY. To put it simply, Super Mario Galaxy is to Super Mario 64 as Super Mario Bros. 3 was to the original Super Mario Bros; it takes 3D Action/Adventure to another level (no pun intended). Well, Mario games have typically always been marketed to kids, but Super Mario Galaxy is one of those Mario games that everyone (of any age) can just sit down and have fun with. SMG does seem a little bit more serious than previous Mario games. Rather than being "kiddish", it's more like "Mario in Space" type of a presentation. You can check out the intro to Super Mario Galaxy here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mvfgg-SVRYIEven though it's a Mario game, the graphics and special effects are actually pretty nice. Like in Super Mario 64, you collect stars in this game to advance further into the game. When it comes to collecting stars, SMG seems to be just as challenging (or even more than) SM64 when trying to get those hard-to-reach stars. The level designs are definitely unique, as a lot of the levels I've played so far are on small round, planet-like platforms which you can move 360° on. To move from each platform, there are "star gates" which will send you blasting in space to the next platform. In some areas/levels, you can jump off the platform without worrying about dying; a round bubble will just magically bring you back to the platform. However, that doesn't mean that this game is easy at all. One of the biggest concerns in SMG to worry about is the "black holes," which now serve the same purpose as the "pit" did in SMB 1-3, World, and S64. Unlike pits, these will suck you in (and you die if you do) if you get too close to them. The controls are similar to Super Mario 64, for the most part. As for the Wii motion abilities in SMG, they are an integral part of gameplay and not just a cheap after-thought for minigames. For example, if you want Mario to do a spin attack, just motion the Wii remote rapidly. The same holds true if you want to send Mario blasting through the many star gates in the game. You can also point your Wii Remote at the screen and shoot stars at allies/enemies to stun or feed them. If anyone is looking for a fun 3D Action/Adventure game to play for their Wii, I'd recommend picking up Super Mario Galaxy.

I'm not actually much into Mario. Everyone seems to have their least favorite Nintendo franchise and Mario seems to be mine. Maybe if he had a sword... >3
lol I probably shouldn't interact with other people at 3 am unless they're just as tired as me XD

I loved Mario 64... until the end of the game. After you spent hours and hours on the game, the end was of Princess saying, "Let's bake a cake!"
What the fu*k is that about?! A cake? I saved your @$$ and you want to bake me a cake?! That was easily the stupidest ending in a game.
Until I know the ending isn't like that, I won't get this game.
