Sad, but true, Super Smash Bros. Brawl has been delayed AGAIN! The new release date is now March 9, 2008, for North American players. More details below:
And the long wait for SSB:B continues...
The painful wait for Nintendo fans continues, as the hotly anticipated Super Smash Bros. Brawl has been pushed back into March.
Nintendo of America has notified us that one of the most anticipated games for the Wii, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, has been pushed back. The game had been set for a release in early February (Feb. 10 to be exact), but now gamers will have to wait until March.
"The launch date for Super Smash Bros. Brawl has shifted a few weeks to March 9," a Nintendo spokesperson told us. "The development is taking slightly longer than expected. As we're sure you have seen on the Dojo site (www.SmashBros.com), the game contains an unprecedented number of characters, options and experiences. Be sure to keep an eye on the Dojo site for the latest information."
This is not the first time the game has been delayed. At its press conference at E3 last year, Nintendo promised that the title would make it out this December on time for the holiday shopping season. Then the game was pushed back to Feb. 10, 2008 by the time October arrived.
In addition to featuring standard characters such as Mario, Pikachu and Kirby, Super Smash Bros. Brawl also stars new playable characters such as Meta Knight from the Kirby games, Pit from Kid Icarus, Zero Suit Samus from Metroid: Zero Mission, Wario and, even Solid Snake from Metal Gear and Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog. The game is also one of few Wii titles that will take advantage of online play.
