Hey guys, as most of you might know, Call of Duty 4 is actually one of the most famous first person shooting games, it is an awesome game and i get so addicted when me and my friends play through LAN at a cyber caffe, but i have this question:
Do you know of the compatibility with Directx 10?
My pc actually uses that Directx, but Call of Duty 4 says it needs Directx 9c , i heard a new demo has come out that uses directx 10 though, but i wanted to ask you guys before i make conclussions.
Do you know if someone ever overwrote his directx10 for the 9?, i really dont wanna screew up my computer just to try a game.

Each DirectX version supports all of the features from prior DirectX versions, so Call of Duty 4 will run fine, as long as you have a DirectX 9 or 10 video card.
You can't really overwrite DX10 with 9, since DirectX updates will always check to see if your current version is higher than what you're trying to apply. If it is, it won't update any of the DX files.

Ah, I graduated with a Computer Science degree. Computer hardware and games are one of my few hobbies.
