Okay, I’ll try to answer all the common questions that people ask when making their characters here.
For this game we’re about to begin, let’s start with level 2 characters. Use the classes in the SRD. If you want to use my custom material I can direct you to it, but new players should probably start with the basic material because it’s less complex (and more comprehensible than my gibberish). If you want help with you character just PM me or make a thread about it in this forum so we can discuss it.
Use the point buy method I mentioned earlier to get your ability scores. Here it is again if you missed it in the character creation explanation
As for equipment, I don’t feel like counting gold or anything, so you get the following:
1 masterwork weapon
Up to 6 additional weapons
Masterwork armor
2 potions of cure light wounds
1 potion containing a 1st level spell of your choice
Other miscellaneous non-magical equipment as you need it.
Basically you get all the non-magical stuff you need and a starter pack of potions.
I’ll post some example characters with their own PDF character sheets and character threads in a few hours.

I use the point buy method which is a lot like RO. Your ability scores all start at 8 and you have a certain number of points to add to them. The common range is from 25 to 32 points. I like 32 because that makes it interesting ^_^
Also like RO, the cost to increase an ability score increases as the score gets higher. The costs are as follows:
going to 9-14 costs 1 point per point of increase
going to 15 or 16 costs 2 points
going to 17 or 18 costs 3 points
you can't start with a base score above 18 =p
for example:
I start with 32 points and all ability scores at 8
I add 6 points to strength for a total of 14 strength
I add 10 points to dexterity for a total of 16 (the 15th and 16th points cost extra)
I add 2 points to con for a total of 10
I add 4 points to intelligence for a total of 12
I add 6 points to wisdom for a total of 14
I add 4 points to charisma for a total of 12
A quick check on the math
6+10+2+4+6+4=32
I've spent all my points and my ability scores ended up as follows
str 14
dex 16
con 10
int 12
wis 14
cha 12
