lol bujin. do you really wanna keep ambidexterity? It's not necessary in 3.5. You should also fix the ages in the character background from elven to human.

yup, everything there looks right. Make sure you add the +2 damage on your dagger and short sword (due to strength). For skills, you can just use the ones on the sheet that I made. As a background... hmmm. You read any fantasy novels? That's basically what D&D is, a world straight out of a fantasy novel. Pretty much anything should work. Halflings are a semi-nomadic race with a fair amount of curiosity. Since you want me to give you one... XP hmmmmm... Generic Background #342384293865 (suitable for halfling rogue/ranger multiclass characters and/or deranged puppies. Or maybe just the halflings...) You led a fairly normal life as a youth and showed greater talents in stealth and ranged weapons than the average member of you clan. You didn't really expect to do much with your life though. Unfortunately, while your caravan was passing through lands, it was attacked/oppressed/leaders were kidnapped. After you came of age, you left home to improve your skills and eventually seek revenge on the who had caused you pain in your youth. END generic backgroundThere. I left a bit unclear for you to clarify later. You'll probably fill in the ???s with you first ranger favored enemy. Also, a little note about the deity. You don't have to pick one, and I usually don't. As a new player you have no idea about the D&D pantheon, so why bother making an unnecessary decision. I didn't bother to have my characters look up to a specific deity for a long time. You can always fill it in later

I left the skills empty because I didn't really understand what skill I have from your chart. Do I have all of the skills named on the skill chart? Because there are like 40 of them. So, from your list of enemys I can choose from to be my favored enemys, can I choose elementals?

okies. I have time now. This character design was originally made to test a new class I found. It's more ninja than the ninja class >=D
1st level halfling swordsage
abilities *
STR: 12 DEX: 18 CON: 12 INT: 12 WIS: 16 CHA: 8
HP: 9
AC 17 (+4 dex, +3 armor)
Weapons:
shortsword: +3 to hit (1d4+5) 19-20
light crossbow +5 to hit (1d6) 19-20
Feat(s): Shadow Blade**
Skills:
climb +6 concentration +5 hide +12 jump +1 listen +9 move silently +10 tumble +7
Saves: Fort +2 Ref +7 Will +6
Stance(s): Child of shadow ***
Maneuvers: Sapphire Nightmare Blade†, Clinging Shadow Strike†, Shadow Blade Technique†, Wolf Fang Strike, Sudden Leap†, Distraction Ember ***
†=readied maneuvers
Possessions: studded leather armor, short sword, nothing else (at least if I'm gonna introduce you in this campaign)
* After an hour or two, or four, of testing dice rolling methods of ability score generation, I decided that rolling dice sucks XP once, using the same method, I got 18, 17, 18, 12, 8, 15 and the next set was something like 8, 7, 12, 15, 10, 9. Anyway, I'm testing a point buy method now. It's reaaaaallly complicated, but that's how I got those stats (notice no 18)
** The feat's from the same book I got the class from. The feat says that when attacking with a short sword, dagger, or unarmed strike and in a shadow hand stance (like Child of Shadow) you may add your dexterity modifier as a bonus to damage.
*** The class's main features. The swordsage class comes from The Book of Nine Swords. It's an anime inspired sourcebook and I <3 it. If you think of maneuvers as spells cast using martial skill you'll pretty much have it.
Swordsages know a number of maneuvers depending on their level, but can only have some of them ready to use at a given time (readied maneuvers). At the beginning of every battle, a swordsage has all of their readied maneuvers available to use. Once they use a maneuver, they can't use it again that encounter unless the spend a full round concentrating to recover it.
Swordsages also learn stances. All stances a swordsage knows are usable at all times, but you can only have one active at once. Changing your stance is a swift action (but you only have one stance, so don't worry)
Now for a description of each maneuver and stance I gave you.
Child of Shadow-- This is a stance (your only one) and it's constantly active. Whenever you move at least 10 feet in a round, supernatural shadows gather around you and provide you with concealment. This means that attacks directed at you have a 20% chance of automatically missing. The concealment given by this effect isn't enough to hide behind. You still have to have something to hide behind as usual.
Sapphire Nightmare Blade-- This is an attack maneuver. Make a concentration check opposed by your target's AC. If you make the check, the target is flat footed against your attack (can't dodge) and you deal an extra 1d6 points of damage. If the concentration check fails, you take a -2 penalty on your attack and deal normal damage.
Clinging Shadow Strike-- another attack. As you attack, supernatural shadows gather around your weapon. If your attack hits, these shadows gather around your victim's eyes and obscure his sight. If the target fails a fortitude save (DC= 11+your wis modifier (+3) they suffer a 20% miss chance on all attacks they make for one round.
Shadow Blade Technique-- a classic ninja attack. Your attack seems to come from two different directions at once, but one is an illusory fake. When attacking with this strike, roll 2d20. Select one of these dice to be your attack roll. If you select the higher die the attack deals normal damage. If you select the lower die and your attack still hits, it deals an extra 1d6 cold damage because the illusion attack also hits.
Wolf Fang Strike-- I forgot what it does. It's not prepared. I only picked it because it's a prerequisite for Sudden Leap. All I remember is that it's a strike that involves dual wielding.
Sudden Leap-- This is a boost, it only takes a swift action to use (you get one swift action every turn in addition to your standard and move actions). When you initiate this maneuver, make a jump check. You may move the distance indicated by your jump check as part of the maneuver. This movement provokes attacks of opportunity as normal. (this maneuver basically lets you move w/o spending a move action, but it's limited by your jumping distance)
Distracting Ember-- Another boost (swift action still). This maneuver you channels the power of fire into a physical form that distracts your opponents. When you initiate this maneuver, a small fire elemental forms in an empty space of your choice within 30 feet (6 squares). This elemental threatens all squares it is adjacent to and provides a flanking bonus when it's applicable. The elemental takes no actions and makes no attacks. It disappears at the end of your turn. (I don't have it prepared, but it can be handy. You may want to prepare this in place of sudden leap if you don't feel like jumping around.)
yeah... that's a lot to read. Have fun XD
