You can do anything you want. Well, you can try anyway XD
Some details I forgot the first time... The walls and floor are made of natural stone. In some areas it's been carved away to expand an existing cave and some is un-worked cave stone.
Mystery DM checks... Leena [dice=20] Tarq [dice=20] Nim [dice=20]
btw, when I make mystery rolls you may wanna check your PMs because any successful results will be PMed to players.
Okay, Tarq is busy WTFing. Nim hasn't responded, Apparently he landed face-first and is stuck up to his waist in straw. Leena looks around to figure out how to get out of this mess.
[dice=20]+12
DM sez the only way out joo see iz teh door. The ceiling shut up tight enough that you can't see daylight and the walls are pretty smooth anyway.
Let's examine the door then ^^p
It's a thick wooden door with iron fittings. The latch is simple with no visible lock. It opens outward.
"You guys okay? I dunno what's going on but this is the only way out..." She opens the door, steps to the side and gestures "After you."
When you reach the door (one of you is gonna go right?), you see a long hallway. Even with your low light vision (You can see twice as far as a human can in the dark. Also, lol we all have it XD) you can't quite make out the end.[rand=628280802129639431266768882764430458744274800599933390450331887167]

It's been almost a full day and both of you have been online. continuing...
. . . o.o' Leena is greeted by blank stares as neither of you do anything (well, Nim might be doing something but it's hard to tell). She looks back and forth between you and the empty hallway several times.
>.> "Fine. You can go ahead and sit there! I'm leaving, and I'm taking the light with me." She picks up fluffy by the scruff of the neck with one hand and takes the torch out of the bracket with the other, then steps out of the room. The light slowly fades from the room as she begins walking away.
OOC: lol XD I wasn't expecting this. Leena's frustrated, but I expect she'll get a nice laugh soon though. Anyway, Tarq should have a light source in his basic equipment set. A simple lantern I believe. Nim has nothing of the sort. You could always follow the torch though.[rand=3880411168277274680998542494894031247423850772700910775894319944523]

OK great, I take out the light source and follow? And I apologise, I was online yes, but only for enough time to skim through, my project submission was today

k, I understand. I'm finished till next semester so I only have work to worry about now ^_^
You start to take out your lantern as you follow Leena. As you step through the doorway you hear a distinct *click*. You look up from what you were doing just in time to see something about the size of a football swinging down from the ceiling toward your face. [dice=20]+10 = 22 [dice=6]+2 = 6 A sack full of sand hits you in the face and deals 6 points of nonlethal damage. XD
[tutorialmode] Nonlethal damage can't kill you, but if you take more nonlethal damage than the # of HPs you have left, you're knocked unconscious. It also heals faster than regular damage. Nonlethal damage heals naturally at a rate of 1 point per hour for every character level you have (in your case, 2 points/hour). [/tutorialmode]
Leena (who had actually turned around and stopped to watch the door) doubles over laughing and even Fluffy thinks it's funny, either that, or he's choking. Fiendish hounds laugh ugly. After a few seconds she calms down enough to say. "If there's one trap, there's two, and if there are two traps, the whole place is trapped. Also, don't let the trap detector walk off in a huff ^^p anyway, let's go."
Now that the torch is closer to the end of the tunnel you can see what's there. At the far end you can see a carved stone door blocking the entire tunnel. It has a little bit of carved relief decoration, but is mostly plain. To one side you can see a small hole in the wall at about waist height and what looks like some carvings above it.
As you get closer you can see that there are words carved above the opening. The opening itself is just a small hole about 1' tall, 1' deep, and 6" wide. It's full of dust and there are several cracks in the wall around it. Leena reads the writing as she walks up to it.
"Ohhh crap >.< Traps and riddles. We're gonna have fun today..."[rand=5618405737903425212861866676908506982014685549200045495724556954276]

o.o'
Leena stands shocked for a moment. "You can't even get this one? *gestures at Tarq with the torch* I'll be the guy who just got hit in the face can solve it. Please tell me you're joking about that."
OOC: Oh hey... Something you may not think of because you're too used to video games. In D&D examining everything (well, not quite everything) is encouraged. What the DM tells you when you walk in someplace is just what you get from walking in. Taking a closer look at some details usually gives further clues. *coughcoughcheckthestrawyoulandedinandthewallindetailcoughcough*

At..? *defaults to the most interesting thing in the area*
You start to take a closer look at Leena's--*slap* and change your mind. You decide it would be more productive to examine the hole in the wall.
Brain-O-vision view: Tarq starts to lean over because Leena's not paying attention, but cats are far more attentive than you think. She slaps him on the side of the face which snaps his head around to face the hole.
Like I said, it's 1'x6"x1'. There are some visible cracks running through the wall around it. They don't seem to have affected the integrity of the stone (it's not ready to collapse or anything) and the largest crack is still too small to fit your finger inside. The hole has a lot of coarse dust on the bottom. You notice there's no dust on the floor or anything. There's an unusual smell around it but you're not quite sure what it is.
You're turning out to be funnier than the gnome with max ranks in comedy skills XD rofl I dunno how funny it is when you imagine it, but it's hilarious to me at 1am

No you can't get inside the cracks either. You do recognize the smell though. It's gunpowder.

no problem. It's a game ^^p We're here for fun.
And yes, it is indeed gunpowder. You don't know how you know what gunpowder is but you're sure that's what the dust is. From what you can see there's not enough to make an explosion. Just a flash and some heat.
