Microsoft has released Windows Vista SP1 to consumers yesterday, so it is now available to everyone to download and install on their Vista systems. More info. on this can be found in this DailyTech article: www.dailytech.com/Vista+SP1+Consumer+Rollout+Coming+Tomorrow/article11116.htmNote that this is exactly the same thing as the leaked RTM Vista SP1 from last month; it's just that Microsoft is now making Vista SP1 available. Right now, Vista SP1 only supports the following languages: English, Japanese, Spanish, French, and German. The rest of the languages will be supported in an updated SP1 pack that will be released in April.

On several tech. sites, a lot of people are reporting that file transferring speeds across the network and hard drives are greatly improved over Vista RTM. As for gaming performance, there's no difference. I have yet to install SP1 on my main PC, but I've installed it on my laptop. I did notice that the annoying TrustedInstaller.exe 100% CPU hog bug disappeared after installing SP1.
